Description & Use The FDECU is a heat pump (reversing mechanical refrigeration system) intended for use in cooling, heating, dehumidifying, filtering, and circulating air for portable shelters, tents, and vans in order to satisfy equipment and personnel climate control requirements.

The FDECU includes two (2) auxiliary electric resistance heat banks of 10KW total capacity to supplement the mechanical refrigeration system heating capacity and provide heat in extreme cold conditions when the mechanical refrigeration system is not used.

When equipped with a separate NBC adapter and ducts, the FDECU is compatible with NBC filter-blower over pressure systems utilized to provide positive pressure air in NBC environments.

The FDECU is intended for use in military operations under worldwide climatic conditions.
